Industry Connect’s programmer internship can be stripped down into the following sections:

Introduction

This is a simple overview of the programme content, what you can expect from a career in IT, the projects you’ll be working on throughout the programmer internship, and their objectives.

.NET Overview

This will be an overall view of .NET framework, including the .NET Architectures and Application Models. Everything you need to work with the software!

C#, Visual Studio 2012

This part of the internship will teach you the language specification and characteristics of C#. We’ll also teach you the tips and tricks that they didn’t teach you at university!

C#, TFS

Here you’ll learn how things done in the C# style. We have useful libraries, APIs, along with unit testing.

ASP.NET Form and MVC

We’ll go over the web development framework ASP.NET, ASP.NET, and also guide you through the difference and when to use MVC vs Web Forms.

ASP.NET MVC   

This module of the course covers MVC in depth, with a commercial Project Demo to help you gain some practical experience.

MS SQL Server, SQL, Stored Procedure, Functions           

This part of the programmer internship is all about databases. Database objects, data modeling best practice, performance considerations, indexing and structure etc. We’ll teach you database management along with Commercial Database Demos, allowing you to gain some real-world experience.

SQL Services and Applications

Agent Jobs, Monitors and Logs, SSRS Reporting Services, SSRS Integration Services, SSRS Analysis Services.

Data and WCF Services

In this part of the internship you will learn about Entity Framework, WCF Web Service, Domain Service, Data Service.

ASP.NET MVC Project Walk through

This is a “walk through” of some commercial ASP.NET MVC Project(s), allowing you to gain valuable insight into the commercial IT world.

Web Services Integration

API Design Consideration, Security Consideration, Best practise in integration scenario. There will also be Commercial Integration Demos, helping see exactly what the process is and how it works.

Mobile App Dev Intro

One of the most popular and significant parts of the programmer internship is the mobile App development intro. A fast-growing sector of the IT world, we’ll introduce you to iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Native vs hybrid vs html5.

Commercial Project Planning

This is what it all comes down to in reality. It’s ok knowing all the bits and bites, but if you can’t put it all together, then you’re not going to make it in the IT world! We’ll show you how to plan a project from start to finish, from the introduction of the project, to the project development life-cycle.
