“Even before getting into the courses, I was able to meet up with Kumar and other people and they were able to guide me through what is the right program that will fit me.”

Another week another success story for Industry Connect!

This time it’s Rick who has just secured a job as a QA automation engineer. We caught up with him to ask about his time with us and if he would recommend it to others in a similar position.

Congrats Rick on your new job as a QA automation engineer! Tell us, how was your internship experience with us?

When we had this training session and then when we moved into MVP Studio to do an actual project, we were able to synchronize both the learning that we made up in the previous six weeks into an actual project.

That link between learning and doing the work on how we learned was very precise and the training actually helped on understanding in depth. Also going ahead we can just make up with more self-learning as well so that kind of confidence was there in me when I started working in MVP Studio.

After moving out from MVP Studio and joining Eight Development, I had few issues regarding the kit repositories and transferring our code into kit. That part was a little bit tricky for me to understand and also about the cicd pipelines as well, that was a new concept for me. I was not able to learn them in Industry Connect, but now recently when I joined, I was able to see those portions being covered and handled as well, so that makes me even happier.

While in Industry Connect we were able to get the whole idea of what this stuff is, because when someone from the industry who is actually working right now is able to come out and talk with us, that gives us more confidence and understanding on how the things have been moving in the real industry rather than when we sit down and we learn from internet.

You could possibly see more stuff on the internet that is not relevant for our jobs which we don’t use in our daily lives. So in terms of testing when an industry person comes out and gives us some lecture that going to be really a helpful thing for us.

What would you like to suggest to others?

I have seen many of my people who joined with me when I was in my college days and also I am seeing so many students right now who are not sure about what is the right role that they will fit in.

Even yesterday I was able to chat with one of my sister’s friend and he was trying to apply for both automation roles and also for some roles in desktop engineering side, so that’s I think that’s the mistake that they make – they are not sure about what is the right the role that they should be working on.

So in terms of getting into Industry Connect I would suggest to them, because even before getting into the courses, I was able to meet up with Kumar and other people and they were able to guide me through what is the right program that will fit me.

I think that is a great thing that Industry Current is doing for people, in terms of clarifying the right place for them and suggesting the right area that they could perform in.

That’s the only thing I would say to people, Industry Connect will help you find the right career path and once they are one that career path, you will get to know the difficulties by learning themselves and what will make them move forward, all by getting into Industry Connect.

I think that’s how they can self-realize that getting into the industry is the right thing for them rather than somebody who is able to push that in their head that. That is the only way that they will – I feel so.

I would really recommend them to attend those meetings with Industry Connect – that would help them.

Well thank you Rick, and good luck in your new job as a QA Automation Engineer!
