The success stories keep on coming, and this time it’s Seema who has just landed her dream job as a test analyst.

Before she set off on her new career, we caught up with her to ask her about her time with Industry Connect and if she would recommend us to others.

Congratulations Seema! Tell us, how did Industry Connect help you get to where you are today?

It definitely helped me a lot. I was thinking I should’ve joined long before I did! I thought “ok, I have experience in IT, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find a job”, but I ended up spending about a year applying for roles.

After I didn’t get any positive responses, I thought I’d reach out on LinkedIn to you guys, and I got very positive responses, so I thought ok, let’s try this.

I found very good tutors here, they helped me a lot. I want to say thank you so much to Kumar and Aadhith. And special thanks to Aadhith, he was available anytime to help and support, he was such a helping guy.

Then after completing all the sessions I started my internship. I think it’s important to focus on your tasks and complete them. Learn as much as you can. It’s not just about completing tasks, it’s about how much you can improve yourself and learn from the likes of Google and YouTube tutorials.

Would you recommend Industry Connect to other people?

That’s why it’s good to attend all the sessions because you can connect with people who listen. That way you are with people who will learn and help each other. Even I have had people reach out to me on LinkedIn and they’re not receiving feedback from interviews and can’t find jobs. I said it depends on the person; how much effort are they putting in. If you are not completing your tasks, not attending your sessions, and you are not committed, then you are definitely not getting a job.

Industry Connect don’t say they will give you a job, they say they will help you find a job – you have to put the work in. That’s what I tell these guys who contact me asking about Industry Connect, so hopefully they will join.

Do you have any advice for someone looking for a job as a test analyst?

My advice for people who do not have experience in testing at the start of their career is instead of learning so many things together, you need to know the basics. If you go for an interview, they will ask you first all the testing concepts, so first you have to know those. If you know your basics, then definitely you will be able to reply to all their questions. It’s just as important to know why we are doing these things instead of what we are doing.

Thank you so much Seema and good luck with your new job as a test analyst!
