“The training was really good. It helped me to get through the interview.”

Melbourne is once again stepping up and finding jobs for our graduates! This time it’s Reshma who has landed a job as a test automation engineer!

Before she started her new career, we gave her a call to ask about her time with Industry Connect and if she would recommend us to others.

Congratulations Reshma! Do you think we helped you secure a job as a test automation engineer?

Yeah that’s the only thing! I started in the development program, but I switched to testing. In the development programme, being a fresher, it was kind of difficult for me going through the tasks so I thought that I would switch to testing because it is easier compared to development!

So I started in August in the testing training batch and then I completed all the tasks very quickly but in the development it took me uh six plus weeks to finish the first task and I couldn’t complete the second one for like three to four months! I couldn’t do it but the testing one was pretty easy.

How did you find the remote internship? Was it beneficial?

Yeah it was useful, because I was in touch with my mentor if I got any questions and the question hub also helped me. And then with my peers too, I had contact with a few of them and they helped me too – lots of good people out there!

What did you think of the training programme?

The training was really good. Really good for the testing and the automation stuff and all the creating frameworks and all those classes were really good. It helped me to get through the interview. And even in the interview, they gave me two links which were pretty much simple compared to what we have done in the onboarding – it is easy!

What would you suggest to others?

I would say they should know some programming, at least fundamentals. If you are to do the automation then you have to learn the program. Because I have done some learning in the programming stuff, it was easy for me, but there are some people in my class who are new to programming and so it is pretty difficult for them.

Well thank you for your advice Reshma and good luck in your new job as a test automation engineer!
